Week One
Today is the last day of week one in EDL500-Personal Leadership. The main thing that I'm hoping to learn from this class is how I can improve my leadership skills. Currently I don't feel that I am a very good leader. I take direction very well and I am a hard worker, but I normally do not head projects or lead others. I refer to myself as a "work horse" because everything I do I do 100% and because I'm motivated and like to see all tasks completed from beginning to end. I am always very focused and I work hard, but that doesn't always mean that I'm a good leader. I prefer to stand out of the spotlight and like working on my own for the most part and normally do not include myself on team projects (if I'm given the choice). This is mainly because I like doing things my own way because I am very particular regarding how tasks are completed and to what standard. During this class, my goal is to learn how to be more of a team player and how I can better lead peers and students. I plan to do this by taking advantage of everything that I can learn in this course. I’ve already read most of the required book and am excited to move forward in the class and discover different methods for leadership.

Hi Lauren!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to be working with you in class! I am also refer to myself as a work horse!
I hope we can all work together to become better leaders!
Hi Lauren,
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way, I tend to stay out of the spotlight whenever possible as well. But if I have to step into a leadership role I can, that is where my adaptability strength comes into play. I look forward to working with you!
